Bigger perch are being caught by anglers willing to stay on the move in Trader’s Bay over 18 to 28 feet or around Goose. On the main lake, walleye activity is best late in the day and overnight on the 16- to 20-foot structure. The musky have started their push shallow and will begin to show up on main lake reefs, rock piles, and shallow weed beds. Walker Bay is producing eelpout on the deep humps and some walleyes in 20 to 22 feet. You can also catch smallmouth bass on top of the rock piles with topwater baits, tubes, and ned rigs. On the main lake focus on rocks in fourteen to seventeen feet of water. An modestly traveled lake, there has been some successful reports by anglers at Leech Lake over the past few years.
